WHO WE ARE
Peabody Terrace Children's Center (PTCC) is a Harvard affiliated non-profit child care center that has provided care for University affiliated families and the surrounding community since 1978. The Center is located in a dedicated space at the ground floor of the Peabody Terrace apartment complex (housing for Harvard faculty, staff, and students).
The Center's child care program runs from 8:15 am to 5:45 pm, daily. We offer 12-month contracts that begin on August 1 of each year. The Center offers programs for children between 3 months and 5 years of age. The children are divided into 8 classrooms based on their age in September of the enrollment year.
PTCC is Harvard affiliated and as such offers priority for enrollment as follows: children of current families and Children's Center staff, children of other current Harvard affiliates, children of Harvard alumni, and then children of non-Harvard affiliates.
PTCC holds all appropriate State licensure. In addition, in 1992 PTCC was one of the first fifty programs in Massachusetts to achieve accreditation from the National Association for the Education of Young Children (www.naeyc.org). This voluntary, regular self-examination reflects an ongoing commitment to embracing both current standards and best practices in early childhood care and education.
